Experimenting with Long Exposure Photography

This image came from a simple idea: go out, experiment, and see what happens.

Long exposure is something I have explored before, but it has not been a focus for a while. Getting back out with the camera and working in this way again reminded me how much I enjoy slowing things down and really thinking about light, timing, and composition.

This particular shot, capturing the reflection of the tower across the water, stood out to me immediately. Not because it is perfect, but because it represents a moment where things started to click again. A reminder that progress often comes through experimentation rather than planning everything in advance.

Photography, for me, is not just about portraits or working with people, even though that is something I enjoy and will continue to develop. It is also about stepping outside of that comfort zone and exploring different techniques, styles, and ways of seeing.

Long exposure is an area I want to continue pushing. There is something satisfying about working with time, letting a scene build gradually, and shaping light rather than simply capturing it.

Projects like this are important. They are not about client work or outcomes. They are about curiosity, experimentation, and rediscovering the creative side of photography.

And sometimes, that is where the most meaningful progress happens.
