Portrait photography is about far more than simply standing in front of a camera. A good portrait session should feel relaxed, collaborative, and enjoyable from start to finish.
At Studio DJC Creative, every portrait session begins with a conversation. Before the camera even comes out, we take time to talk about what you would like to achieve from the photographs. Some people arrive with a clear vision, while others simply want natural images that capture them at their best. Either approach works perfectly.
My role is not only to take the photographs, but to help create an environment where you feel comfortable enough to be yourself. When people feel relaxed, the camera simply captures the moment.
Portrait sessions can take place in a variety of settings. Many clients choose an outdoor location such as Winchester, Southampton, or surrounding areas of Hampshire, where natural light and interesting textures help create beautiful, authentic images. Sessions can also take place in your home or another indoor space, and a mobile lighting setup and backdrop can be used where appropriate.
If you already have ideas for your photoshoot, I would love to hear them. Creative input from clients often leads to the most memorable images. If you are unsure what might work best, I am always happy to guide the process and suggest locations, poses, and styles that suit you.
