A New Chapter
On 16th July 2026, I had the privilege of photographing my very first wedding.
When Andreea asked if I’d capture her and Marley’s registry office ceremony in Winchester, I was genuinely honoured. Excited, of course—but also aware of the responsibility that comes with photographing one of the most important days in somebody’s life.
Unlike a portrait session, a wedding unfolds in real time. There are no second chances, which is exactly what makes it so rewarding.
An Intimate Celebration
Rather than a large traditional wedding, this was a beautifully intimate ceremony shared with close family and friends.
I loved how relaxed the day felt. There wasn’t a packed schedule or hundreds of guests pulling the couple in every direction. Instead, it allowed space for genuine moments to happen naturally.
Sometimes, the quietest weddings tell the loudest stories.
Beneath the Cathedral Arches
After the ceremony, we wandered over to Winchester Cathedral for a few portraits.
The architecture was stunning, but what really stood out was how effortlessly Andreea and Marley were together. I hardly needed to direct them. They simply enjoyed being in each other’s company, and my job became capturing that rather than creating it.
The Moments I’ll Remember
Looking back on the day, it wasn’t necessarily the formal portraits that stayed with me.
It was the quieter moments.
The gentle embrace.
The smiles between conversations.
The little gestures that weren’t planned.
Those are the photographs that remind me why I love documenting people.
A Privilege to Be Part of Their Story
Photographing my first wedding taught me a lot — not just technically, but emotionally too.
It reminded me that wedding photography isn’t simply about documenting a timeline. It’s about preserving a feeling.
To Andreea and Marley, thank you for trusting me with such an important day. Congratulations once again, and I wish you both every happiness for the future.
